Frequently asked questions

When adding an expense, you enter the total amount you purchased (e.g. 1kg of filament for $25) and how much you actually used on this project (e.g. 200g). BuildTab automatically calculates the cost: 200g ÷ 1000g × $25 = $5.00.

This way you only track what you actually spent on each project, not the full price of materials you'll use across multiple builds.

Go to Settings → Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase. Your Pro features will be restored automatically.

If you're having trouble, check that your internet connection is active and try again. If it still doesn't work, email me and I'll help sort it out.

iCloud sync is a Pro feature. After upgrading, go to Settings → iCloud sync and toggle it on. Your projects and materials will sync across all devices signed into the same Apple ID.

Make sure iCloud is enabled for BuildTab in your device's Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Apps using iCloud.

Open a project and tap the share icon, then select Export as CSV. You'll get a spreadsheet with all expenses, quantities, costs, and usage amounts for that project. You can share it via email, AirDrop, or save it to Files.

CSV export is a Pro feature.

The free version lets you create up to 3 projects with 25 materials in your library, 1 photo per project, and basic totals. It's enough to try the app and see if it works for you.

Pro unlocks unlimited projects, unlimited materials, multiple photos, iCloud sync, CSV export, charts, and budget tracking. It's a one-time purchase — no subscription, no recurring charges.

Yes. BuildTab is a native app that runs on both iPhone and iPad. If you purchase Pro on one device, it's available on all devices signed into the same Apple ID.

To keep your data in sync between devices, enable iCloud sync in Settings (Pro feature).

All data stored locally on your device is deleted when you remove the app. If you had iCloud sync enabled, your data remains in your iCloud account and will be restored if you reinstall.

To permanently delete iCloud data, go to your device's Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage and remove BuildTab's data before deleting the app.

Yes. BuildTab stores everything on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no ads. We never see your data. Read our full privacy policy for details.
